or complain about, you know, country music when you're based in nashville. but apart from all that, she did run a good campaign. everyone has said it. it was a campaign that was very, very focused on affordability, on people's pocketbooks. at the same time, she had a lot of baggage. this is a very red district. it was a strange choice to run that particular candidate. where we've seen democrats do really well is if they're running the candidates that fit the district right. if they're if it's a conservative district, run a blue dog democrat, if it is a more liberal district, you can run a mamdani. right. and that is what you see in the midterms. that is a strategy that nancy pelosi adopted extremely well. she you know, she was recruiting candidates that said, okay, what is this look like in this particular district? and can they win there? and that is the only thing that matters. >> i think there's few places you can complain about country music safely in politics, especially nashville, but few places. lulu, great to have your insights. thank you so much. yo

spanberger, even zohran mamdani, in the way she focused relentlessly on the cost of living in the nashville area, in the rest of the district. she talked about bringing grocery prices down, making life more affordable. however, she was not able to outrun the attacks that republicans lobbed against her, and that had a lot to do with the things she's said and done as a community organizer and as a state legislator over the last couple of years that ultimately confirmed a lot of republican voters' worst fears about what a democrat was. so she's on camera saying she's a pretty radical person. she's on camera saying that she supports defunding the police. she enjoys chasing around ice agents. so republicans really made this race about a radical policy position of a democrat, while the democrat was trying to make the race about cost of living, two things that were not a part of this race at all, the one big beautiful bill that republicans passed earlier this year that many in the party are staking their hopes on for the midterms next year, and president donald trump, whose name really was absent,
